Horn, GOP challengers report finances
U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn, who has introduced legislation to tweak laws regarding student loans, had student debt between $15,000 and $50,000 last year, according to a financial disclosure report filed this week.
On her first financial disclosure form as a member of Congress, Horn reported the outstanding loan balances among her assets and liabilities, although she said they would not be affected by her proposed legislation.
Republicans hoping to challenge Horn next year have also filed financial disclosure reports with the U.S. House.
The reports require members of Congress and candidates to list their assets and liabilities only in broad ranges, giving the public some insight into their financial interests. Because they dont include specific values of holdings and personal residences dont have to be included the reports are not a gauge of net worth.
