Horse slaughter bill!!

Got this from the humane society. The phone numbers are for my representatives, but heck anyone could call them.

DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO SLAUGHTER

Dear Nancy,

We now have documentation from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) showing that the Oklahoma Meat Company has filed an application to slaughter horses. There is now a real threat that a horse slaughter plant will open in the U.S., and Oklahoma might be ground zero. Legislation (H.B. 1999/S.B. 375) to overturn Oklahoma's current horse slaughter ban is still pending, and time is running out. We need Oklahomans who care about horses, the environment, and food safety to call today to stop this legislation.

Please make a brief, polite phone call TODAY (even if you've called
before) to your state representative, Weldon Watson(405) 557-7330 , and state senator, Mike Mazzei(405) 521-5675 , urging them to vote NO on H.B. 1999/S.B. 375.

You can say, "I am a constituent, and I am calling to ask that you vote no on H.B. 1999/S.B. 375." Then, please share this email with other Oklahomans who oppose horse slaughter.

Just think of all the jobs this could create in Oklahoma! YAY!!

If it goes through, I suggest the slaughtering is done on the lawn of the State Capital in OKC, and Gov. Fallin should inspect all of them personally, since the sequester has cut back on meat inspectors!
