But she stepped up when it was needed and the voters sure appreciated it since John is still recovering - and the good news is that he's going to be fine.

The only time that happened during my lifetime was briefly in 2009 when Specter switched from Republican to Democrat and Casey was the other Senator. Specter ran for his seat that next year as a Democrat in 2010 and was primaried by Joe Sestak, who eventually lost to teabagger Toomey, and that was the end of that.

Before that, you'd have to go back to the late '40s with a brief overlap of 2 (D)s.

Who now lives in Philadelphia and refers to herself as a "liberal lawyer" and I've gotten my information from her - and she works awfully hard. That's one thing that I'm grateful for, I have no need to worry or harass my senators, I'm proud of Schumer and Gillibrand was my congresswoman, I worked on both campaigns for her chosen successor, passed his house just today, he was local. *sigh*

And that's why it's unbelievable to me that anyone here would vote for Stefanik - who has become a national embarrassment. There have been protests at her headquarters since day #1 - not to mention the district wide billboards. But I just read an article in a local paper yesterday and her reaction is to double down.

This was the one I used to pass every day:

to nutjobs like Doug Mastriano and Scott Perry, then you really see how far we have fallen where the whole definition of "swing state" here has been transformed into loon state.

Ad if you look at some of those we previously opposed, they seem comparatively tame today. On DU.2, I sure remember all the vitriol being directed at Dick Cheney, who would have imagined that we'd be rooting for his daughter today?? She hasn't changed and neither has he, but the Republican party sure has - their inexplicable support for a twice impeached traitorous twice losing candidate has turned old fashioned Republicans into patriots - and considering what we're facing, we're grateful to have them on "our side!"

On edit: Speaking of which:

(the former pulled by Shrub to be the first DHS head and the latter by Poppy to be Attorney General) but neither were radicalized like Abbott and DeSantis.

Even Tom Corbett, who was the last GOP governor here, and who was slowly being groomed by nuts like Mike Turzai in that direction as preparation for a 2nd term, and who was thankfully thwarted when he lost to Democrat Tom Wolf, hadn't completely flipped to the unabashed crazy talk.

But Mastriano and his ilk are full fledged radicalized terrorists.
