‘Fracking’ bosses would choke if tables turned

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/life_and_entertainment/2012/05/29/fracking-bosses-would-choke-if-tables-turned.html
“How’s the meatloaf?” the fracking executive asks the waiter.

“Excellent,” says the waiter.

“There aren’t any peanut products in it, are there? I’m allergic to peanuts.”

The waiter explains that the chef doesn’t disclose the ingredients in his meatloaf, because it’s proprietary information.

of the bar/ restaurant.

When your neighbor allows drilling the minimum distance from your property line, you have no choice. Sure, you can TRY to sell your house and move away, but you will find your home is no longer worth as much as it used to be.

I'm skeptical that the information in that file is still both current and complete. If all of the up to date information is public then why are companies so concerned about confidentiality? Why are doctors required to sign confidentiality agreements?

That's an old file with outdated information.

There is a newer site where companies are asked to post chemicals that are used - unless they claim they are trade secrets. Then a doctor or medical researcher has to sign the confidentiality agreement before they can see them. The law could be interpreted to say that the doctor could not even tell his patient what chemicals are involved.

The situation reminds me of the owner of a particularly noxious polluting industry who sued to try to stop a wind farm from being built offshore from his vacation home at Matha's Vinyard.
