Long time browser of DU. This will be my very first post on the site.
First off, I am a resident of (the City of Butler in) Butler County where Fetterman held his rally.
Butler is the county located north of Allegheny County where Pittsburgh is located. The GOP has a +27 registration advantage in the county mainly due to the historic nature of party affiliation but that is slowly starting to change because of growth in the southern part of the county.
Oz had a "rally" on Monday during the day at a restaurant in Cranberry Township, which is just south of where Fetterman had his rally in Harmony. 60 people were in attendance at Oz's "rally" which seemed to be more of an invite only since it was mainly comprised of local GOP party bigwigs, hardcore party members, and Senator Tom Cotton for whatever reason. Fetterman having about 440 (the actual attendance rather than the mentioned number of 200 in the article) is HUGE for Butler County.
Now, it might be a few people putting up a lot of signs but I have never seen so many signs for Democratic candidates in and around the Butler area. The three Democratic candidates of note are the aforementioned John Fetterman for Senate, Josh Shapiro for Pennsylvania governor, and Dan Pastore for Congress (HoR).
I can tell everyone on DU this that there is zero enthusiasm for any GOPee (Google Oz and urine) candidate in my area of Pennsylvania except among the Republican faithful. No one except hardcore GOPeers are excited about Doug Mastriano (Republican candidate for governor) and the aforementioned Dr. Oz for Senate. Almost no one is going to vote for Mastriano just to vote against Shapiro for governor. It's just not going to happen. A few people who aren't GOPeers might vote for Oz due to some reservations about Fetterman but I don't believe it will make much of a difference. I can unequivocally tell you that many Republicans will be voting for Fetterman and Shapiro and almost no Democrats (who aren't DINOs) will be voting for Mastriano and Oz. It's just not going to happen.
Unless Fetterman does not do well at the debate next week, both he and Shapiro are going to win in blowouts.

It's better to hear from someone on the ground than trying to figure from polls sometimes.

If Fetterman and Shapiro chip just a small percentage of votes the GOPee normally get in predominantly Republican counties like Butler as Biden did in 2020, their elections will be blowouts. Mark it down.

I live in Pittsburgh on the Northside, but I've worked in Cranberry for over 20 years. Got to know a lot of Butler County during that time. And you're right that it used to be rural/conservative, but in the last several years younger, hipper, more liberal residents are making a difference. I'm retired now so I don't come up to your area as often. However I'm hoping the liberal trend will continue.

Keep in mind that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette where I got this article from, is owned and operated by a bunch of ultra-conservative a-holes. The editors and reporters are mostly liberal/Dem but sometimes they have to post these articles that throw shade on the Democratic candidates. That's probably why they stated the crowd was only 220 people.

here in my R area. The past few days, I've had occasion to drive outside my usual routes
into more conservative and somewhat more rural areas. I think I've seen a total of 3 houses with yard signs for Rs. I suspect that's a sign R enthusiasm is down.

I've seen signs for the Rs at a few intersections, but they are matched by D signs. I think overall Ds have the advantage with the roadway signs.

Yesterday a neighbor across the road - a known Trumper - mowed his lawn. Today he had a Mastriano and Oz sign out plus one imploring people to vote Republican. Since he has had no signs out all since the Trump one in 2016, my guess is the display is in response to the Dem signs put out by me and his next door neighbor earlier. Makes me wonder what the players on his wife's championship high school softball team will think?
