I just heard a public radio news item today that Corbett is still actively trying to move forward on turning the PA. lottery over to a British company for the next 30 to 40 years.
Meanwhile, today the PA. Lottery reported another year of record profits that are being delivered to the State Government. The Lottery made about $1.1 billion in profits in the last 12 months. That is one very very juicy target.

Excerpts:
"As Gov. Tom Corbett continues to move forward with plans for privatizing the Pennsylvania Lottery, lottery officials have reported record profit for fiscal year 2012-2014, which ended June 30.
Spokeswoman Elizabeth Brassell said the lottery had $3.69 billion in sales and earned $1.067 billion in net revenue for the lottery fund, which supports programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.
The lotterys administrative costs decreased as a percentage of sales slightly in 2012-13 to 2.07 percent, down from 2.1 percent in the previous year."

(6,819 posts)The Corbettites are a sneaky sneaky bunch. The latest is that they bragged about how much more profit the Lottery could make if the Brits ran it. However, the bulk of those additional profits would come from adding keno games. Nothing stops the Legislature from authorizing the current PA. Lottery from adding keno games.
