Wolf creates Political Action Committee, to be independent of party bosses

http://www.mcall.com/news/local/mc-pa-wolf-democratic-party-20140620,0,938286.story

Normally, the Dem Party Gov candidate is allowed to select the party chairperson. Wolf proposed Kathy McGinty. However, he was told there would be a divisive fight about it at the Party meeting.

Therefore, Wolf changed course and has created a new Political Action Committee, headed by McGinty. The PAC will make it easier for him to avoid having to kowtow to certain party bosses who have too much control over the party, and to go around a system that can stagnant at times. It is modeled after the organization that Obama used in 2008, which was not reliant upon the Dem party structure.

It is part of Wolf's commitment to shake up the status quo, to make greater use of technology, and to not allow things to always continue to be done the way they've been done in the past.

The PAC is also intended to help the Dems gain Dem seats in the Legislature. The Senate is within reach.
