2 upcoming fundraisers for TN Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition--yummy Kurdish and Persian food

All proceeds benefit the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition. TIRRC is a statewide, immigrant and refugee-led collaboration whose mission is to empower immigrants and refugees throughout Tennessee to develop a unified voice, defend their rights, and create an atmosphere in which they are recognized as positive contributors to the state.

"Join Chef Arazoo Ibrahim for a multi-course journey through Kurdish cuisine and culture. Arazoo will combine traditional Kurdish flavors with unique cooking styles to create fresh, unique, and truly authentic dishes.

In January 2017, Arazoo and her family were en route Nashville when they were turned around during their layover in Cairo due to Trump's first Muslim Ban. TIRRC organized a local campaign to get Tennessee members of Congress to intervene and ultimately Arazoo and her family was granted clearance to travel to Nashville. More than 200 Nashvillians greeted her family at the airport as they arrived in Nashville on Superbowl Sunday.

After cooking alongside esteemed chefs during TIRRC's 2018 InterNASHional Mashup Dinner, Arazoo launched her own food business, Zoo's Kitchen, which debuted at the 2018 InterNASHional Food Crawl.
