Travis assistant DA charged with DWI

A Travis County state prosecutor has been charged with driving while intoxicated about four months after the drunken driving arrest of his boss, District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, led to calls for her resignation.

Lehmberg said in a phone interview Tuesday that she would wait until all the facts are known before making any decisions on the employment of Brandon Grunewald, who was charged Sunday after he was involved in a wreck. Her office does not typically fire employees for a first-time DWI offense, Lehmberg said, reiterating a statement she released earlier.
