Pharr PD probes double homicide in parking lot at PSJA elementary school
PHARR - A police spokeswoman said she couldn't confirm that the two bodies found in an elementary school parking lot Monday night were the result of a murder-suicide, "but it appears that way."
The bodies, belonging to a man and woman who were not related and were in their 50s, were found in a red, four-door Cadillac that was parked next to a gray, unoccupied Jeep in the parking lot of Dr. William Long Elementary School, said Sgt. Mirabelle Garza, a Pharr police spokeswoman. That school sits north of Eldora Road and just east of PSJA (Pharr-San Juan-Alamo) North High School.
Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Rosa Treviño arrived at the scene to pronounce the two dead and requested autopsies.
PSJA schools spokeswoman Adrianna Vasquez-Hernandez said in an email that the school will be open during normal hours on Tuesday. She said police told school officials the fatal incident "does not appear to create a threat to the school."
