voting today was a chore

I wish we had voted early during the two weeks it was possible, but something kept getting in the way and we just couldn't, so we voted today, on primary voting day.

Damn! This year, the Democratic Primary voting was held not at the neighborhood grocery store four blocks from my home with covered free parking as in the past, but on the 16th floor of a building downtown that is rather difficult to locate and where you have to pay to park.

It was freezing today, and the wind and rain is relentless. My wife and I were the only two people voting at that time in that location. By the time we voted around noon, there had been only SIX other voters at that location, and the polls were opened at 7am.

Somehow, I bet that the Republicans are behind the difficult location. They are willing to do anything to suppress the Democratic vote, and they are able to get away with it in most cases. I wonder how many other Democratic precincts likewise got the shaft like mine did?

Don't be too disappointed or surprised if the Democratic totals in this runoff are low. There are millions of us in Texas and we will be out in force in November. I just hope that the bozos like Rogers don't win the day because voting conditions were so bad across the state.

And the early voting locations were no different than in elections past.

It was only when I actually sought out the Democratic Primary polling place that I noticed that we got shafted. And I didn't notice a peep about it from the Harris County Dems or any other org. They may have indeed squawked, but I didn't hear it.

I voted, and then I signed up for my county's upcoming convention. Feels terrific.
