An American Airlines flight attendant disrupted a Chicago-bound flight Friday morning, telling passengers that the plane might crash and mentioning terrorist attacks as the plane was preparing to take off from Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, officials said.
The attendant, who was not identified, was subdued by several passengers and other crew members while the plane taxied back to the gate.
American Airlines spokesman Ed Martelle confirmed that "an incident occurred involving some of the cabin crew" and that two flight attendants were taken to hospitals for treatment. He declined to provide their names or information about their injuries or conditions.

Bethany Christakos of Dallas, seated toward the rear of the plane, told The Associated Press that passengers started "freaking out" as an attendant gave a rambling 15-minute speech on the public-address system.

(18,063 posts)Holy cow that is scary. I hope that this flight attendant gets the help she needs. I'm sure it's a complete embarrassment to AA. Lets hope they have a good medical plan that will cover mental health.
