Another weasel turns republican

If they have no principles, they belong in the republican party.

Former TV reporter Miriam Martinez is switching parties and will now run as a Republican in Texas House District 41.

Martinez told the Guardian on Thursday evening that she was quitting the Democrats because of the “threats” she had received for switching from Texas House District 40, which she originally filed in, to District 41.

She's been on the Rio Grande Valley airwaves for years and now, she's hoping to cash that fame in for a Texas State Representative seat.

TV and radio personality Miriam Martinez announced on Friday that she intends to enter politics as a Democratic Party primary candidate.

Martinez has been a well-known personality of Spanish-language TV and radio stations for years.

The announcement comes hours after Rep. Aaron Peña (R-Edinburg) announced he would not seek re-election and days after redistricting saga ended.
