They are frantic, hysterical pleas for money purporting to be from important people, and all of them suggesting that if I don't send them money right now the GOPers will win every single election. It's getting very tiresome. I donate directly to candidates, not the DNC, DCCC, or whoever.

They're hard to kill, though. Every Dem Congressional candidate in the country seems to have been informed that I'm an easy touch.

I get three or four e-mails a day

but this was 3 or 4 every few HOURS. I deleted over 10 the day I finally had enough.

... the daily count really skyrockets, and I have gotten as many as 30 a day from assorted Democratic campaigns. They need some new writers, because almost ALL of them are one variation or another of "catastrophic defeat," "imminent doom," and so forth. I delete them all.

I also get emails begging for donations for candidates I have never contributed to before. Guess they buy the email lists.

This is the week before primaries in NYS and the phone has been ringing.
I am almost hoping to get a live call from the Cuomo campaign so I can have the pleasure of telling them I'm voting for Teachout and Lu.

I'll also say that I'm just about as bitter about how much Texas Democrats give to the national party and how little we get back. If it wasn't for the fact that the Democrats do seem in danger of losing control of the US Senate after this year's election, I probably wouldn't give them anything.

This is not to say that I'm happy about how we Texas Democrats have been treated, oh, non, no, no. I might also be polite to the poor sods making telephone pitches for more money, but I am still very, very resentful about how poorly done-by we are by the national Democratic Party.
