KERA was asking for debate questions. Here is what I emailed them:
Attorney General Abbott: In the last debate you responded to a challenge from Senator Davis by asserting that she had voted for a bill in 2011 which kept you from being able to settle the school financing lawsuit. You did not cite the specific law.
In fact there is no such law.
The only law passed in 2011 which has any bearing on lawsuits of this nature is one requiring that you receive notice of the suit. The fact is that you have settled cases like this in the past and have the power to settle this suit.
Was your answer due to the fact that you are an incompetent attorney, or was it just a bald faced lie?
