A Texas teacher accused of making anti-Muslim slurs and jokes about Ebola infecting President Obama will resign immediately with three months' pay, the Houston Independent School District announced on Thursday.

Angela Box, a third-grade teacher in west Houston, made the remarks on episodes of a local conservative political show "Tommy's Garage," the Houston Chronicle reported.

"Every normal human being in the world knows that goat-fucking Muslims and, oh, boy fucking Muslims, are the evil of the world," Box appears to have said in one of the broadcasts. She also referred to Muslims as "bacon-haters."

The teacher also joked she was hopeful President Obama would catch Ebola. "Can't Ebola just take one for the team and take out Obama?" Box said, according to the paper.

This is a Bad Apple teacher. Surprised she didn't use the God word in her hate rant.

...Must add though that there are a lot of outstanding teachers in Texas Schools also. I know a few of them, & Ms Box is a total embarrassment to them all.
Maybe she can go work for Greg Abbot when he's crowned the next king of Texas.
ugh!!

This annoys me to no end.

I keep hearing this over and over -- mainly because it's true ... but that's not the point.

We take the blame for a lot of shit. We deserve a good bit of it, ... but not this. So Stop it !

We Texans have got enough to contend with, what with ... well, I don't even have time to go into it all ... we don't have the time or energy to worry about books for the 49 little states ...

OURS ARE SCREWED UP ENOUGH!!!

Nobody here in Texas decreed that all you other states have to use our textbooks, so stop blaming us. The last I heard, you have printing presses and stuff your own self --Use them!

We can't help it that historically the textbook publishers felt like the volume of books sold here kept them from spending the money to print special editions for you little guys. That blame belongs to capitalism.

What with the internet and the ability to make changes to anything with a keystroke ... and e-publishing and stuff ...it should be relatively easy to whup up a batch of textbooks that actually tell the truth about the world.

In fact, you should be ashamed of your little own selves for not taking care of it already.

Hell, just copy Wikipedia - that's what all my students do anyway!

And a printing press is all it takes to make textbooks?

Yeah, I think I'll post true things whenever they seem relevant.

OK, I realize that I didn't use the sarcasm thingee or other smilie, but I thought the way that it was written made it pretty obvious that it was tongue squarely in cheek.

Write whatever you want ... it is, as they say, a free country (Now THAT was a joke!)

There was some truth in that little rant, however - there is always some truth in sarcasm. That is simply that nobody should be captive to this reasoning for having bad textbooks. Here in Texas we have our own misbegotten reasons for our bad textbooks. You want some decent textbooks? Contend with the School Boards in your own state. God knows we have our hands full contending with our own.

I didn't notice that little tidbit until I was reading this to my wife on the phone.

I found some humor in the fact that the school board accepted her resignation unanimously. It's not like they had to accept her resignation for her to quit. Hell, Sarah Palin didn't ask anybody's hoo hah whether or not she could quit. She just up and did it (That girl has gumption! I have recently learned that you need to put those :: things in there)

But what that means is that the school board unanimously gave her 3 months pay.

disgusting!

BTW, when I read this to my wife -- including the quote -- she very quickly told me I was on speaker phone. I'm not sure which :: thing I should use here, or , because they both apply.
