IMO, Fort Worth ISD was hoping to get the $11 Million educational funding restored, in this legislative session, first pulled by the 2011 Texas Republican controlled Legislature. Sleeping voters elected Burton who is a Tea Party Extremist to replace D-Senator Wendy Davis. It seems to me that Burton is planning on voting to pull funding from post secondary education as she was appointed to that committee by Extremist nutbag Lt. Governor Dan Patrick. People need to wake up in this State. Burton is no advocate for those needing to go to college and certainly not those for public schooling K-12. I believe that she will be moved to K-12 if re-elected in 2016, to return to the 2017 Legislature under Patrick and Abbott, who will be in office for 4 years. (TX House and Senate members face re-election every two years.)
It is my belief that Burton is a flaming voucherist, against public education and affordable college.

(16,149 posts)Extremists keep getting into office. Makes me wonder if the electronic vote "counting" machines are tampering with election totals...

14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.
It's not who votes that counts. It's who counts the votes that counts.

(4,695 posts)On an Early Election Voting Day, 2014, I ask at the voting area who was in charge of the Colleyville voting Place. Then I ask that person to step over to look out the window and down to the lawn beside the sidewalk and parking lots and to see those Konni Burton Campaign Signs. Then I said that it was my understanding that the signs could be no closer than 100 feet from the door to City Hall. And that I believe that the local public Independent School Districts and I do not appreciate Burton campaigning at the election doors on the back side of the building in the parking lot and side walk next to the voting booths.
Taxed Enough Already-Tea Extremist Burton lives in Colleyville. Time will tell what her real motives for being in Austin are all about. Tea could mean that Burton wants others to pay the taxes, such as Texas families of public school children and community members, so she can arrange to move the money to K-12 vouchers or force a reduction in the PhD staff of Texas colleges and Universities. Post Secondary Education would have to replace expert teaching staff with minimum wage Sunday School teachers. The Oklahoma AP History Curriculum was being changed to Sunday School Bible lessons by a few Legislators but stopped by AP students after the election of Republicans to most offices.
Hope you remember from previous Texas DU posts and replies, the video with Burton lying about her education plans for Texas. Texans need to wake up and go vote in 2016.
