Texas Man ‘Playing’ With AR-15 Shoots 3-Year-Old Daughter To Death

http://freakoutnation.com/2015/04/texas-man-playing-with-ar-15-shoots-3-year-old-daughter-to-death/

The Killeen Daily Herald reports:

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness told police that the young girl’s father, 27-year-old Ashton Blake Salvato, was “playing with a gun” when he shot the young girl.

What was deemed as an apparent ‘accidental’ shooting could have easily been prevented, by not “playing” with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and his child within target range.

In a residence, just before 12:20 p.m., the father killed his young daughter in what most certainly not an ‘accident.’

Officers performed CPR on the little girl who was identified as Cessa Joy Salvato. She was rushed to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

According to the Killeen Daily Herald, Cessa Joy Salvato’s death marks the sixth homicide death in Killeen for 2015.

All six of those deaths in the city which is populated by only 127,921 people involved firearms.

I'm sure it was worth it to him. Too bad about the collateral damage.

We here in the United States have all these great constitutional freedoms, and the right to keep and bear arms is one of those freedoms. And it's a great one. Or it would be for a people better equipped to handle it. All these NRA folks say they love the 2nd Amendment, but so many of them think there's no responsibility to go along with the freedom. Somebody once said the problem with the US is that its extensive liberty is wasted on its citizens.

we have in our constitution the right to play with guns.
We can morn the child but she is a casualty of the circumstance we find ourselves in. There are certainly people who are responsible gun owners and just as certainly there are it irresponsible gun owners. We live with both as a result of our laws.
A child pays with her life for freedom. Only she is not free to live out her life.
There is a painting many have seen were a guy is kneeling at the Wall in Washington and the ghosts of dead soldiers from Vietnam are looking down on him from above the Wall.
I'd like to see the same kind of painting showing the ghosts of slain children looking down on a NRA convention gathering.

All of our children thus become little Cessa Joy Salvato's at the hands of idiots with a weapon on their hip.

I am close to moving out of this State.
Pack up your babies & run for your life.

It's okay, apparently to kill your kids with a gun, but a second trimester abortion is "murder".

she could have shot first and killed him before he had a chance to shoot her.

The biggest predictor of having someone in the home die of gun violence is having a gun in the home.
