Women that broke record eating three steak dinner reports drawback - Warning.

Yep, epic diarrhea!

Sorry about that folks.

Molly Schuyler — the California competitive eater who inhaled three 72-ounce steaks and accompanying side dishes in record time Sunday in Amarillo — sees a doctor every three to six months.

“They say my health is perfect, no joke. They take blood tests, everything,” Schuyler said by phone Thursday.

She didn’t talk to two Lubbock gastroenterologists who say there can be a bunch of problems from gorging that much food in a short time.

“I can’t believe that somebody can do any of this. I just can’t believe it,” Hamed Altamimi, a gastroenterologist at Southwest Gastroenterology, said of competitive eating.

I don't think it needs a warning. That's more red meat then I've consumed in years, I can't even imagine eating all of that in 20 minutes.

but she got sick of the taste of the meat.

The doctors also warn of possible kidney damage that could occur by eating so much protein.

One of the bloggers had a good comment:

So, glutteny is a good thing?

Eating more than one can process, and more than is healthy is news worthy in OUR state.

I hope she has more reasons for being besides the amount of beef she can stuff into her stomach in a 20 minute period.

Trying to raise four children isn't enough of a challenge?

I guess each person's self-esteem is based upon their own, personal needs.

My ability to consume mass quantities of nutrients does not correlate with my feelings of self-worth.

Good luck to this woman/wife/mother in her search for higher self esteem.

the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest?

Isn't that at least as revolting?

Or all the other gorging contests at state fairs around the country...

The only reason I posted about this thread is because I have all of the major newspapers in Texas on my bookmarked list. I haven't left the state to go anywhere else since 2002.

probably because it's so, well, Texas. I hear many are called but few are chosen, and not often does anyone get past the second steak. Not too many get past the first one, either, but didn't it used to be eat two steaks for the prize? I guess enough people got that far that they had to add the the third and set a timer.

Ahh, the glorification of gluttony.

We had a small chain of local ice cream parlors around NYC that had this thing called the Kitchen Sink. It was huge, maybe couple of gallons in this monstrous punch bowl. They said if you could finish one, you get a second one free.

Gaachh!

just because of the idea of getting brain freeze eating all of that ice cream. Double scary since a second ice cream company announced a recall today (Jeni's).

animalistic, unhealthy, and wasteful. Why do these events go on all the time?
