Update: Justice for Tiger Peaceful Demonstration - May 27 (cat shot by veterinarian with arrow)

A candlelight vigil was held for Tiger tonight in Bellville to mark the one month anniversary of his death.

FYI for the weekend: As far as we know, Kristen Lindsey has not been charged. Her veterinary license has not been suspended or revoked.

What do we need help with? Continue to call, write or email the DA and press for charges to be filed. Continue to sign the petitions. Continue to petition the Board of Veterinary Examiners to remove her license. Continue to urge the news stations KBTX, KXAN, KPRC to follow and update this story. (& any others)

___________

Tiger is a cat who has left a legacy. He disappeared around April 16, and since then has made waves in the world, sparking a debate about the importance of feral and outdoor cats.

Not many know Tiger’s whole story though, and his good friend Amy has shared with us his biography. Amy was a pet sitter and caretaker for Tiger and his farm friends for over three years.

Tiger was abandoned at a farm home when he was just a kitten. The couple that lived there never turned down a “dumped” animal as they love all animals. They named him Tiger because he was a beautiful orange & white tabby.

Tiger stayed by the house until he was old enough to live at the barn and rid it of mice that would get into horse & cattle feed and tear up other various important wires. Before taking him to the barn, his owners made sure he was old enough and got him neutered, fully vetted, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Tiger had a routine over the course of his 6 years at the farm. During the day and late night after dinner he would either be in the barn protecting the horses, who became his best friends, or he would spend time in the pastures with them – sitting right next to them while they grazed. In the evening before sunset he knew it was dinner time so he would come up to the house for his cat chow and wet food mix. He looked forward to this every evening and would talk to you about it. He would even show you where you were supposed to set it down for him to enjoy.

Austin County Courthouse, 1 East Main Street, Bellville, TX

PLEASE ONLY EXCEPT IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ATTENDING IN PERSON. We need to have as close to an accurate count as possible. Grand Jury is meeting this month, even though Kristen Lindsey's case may not be on the docket our presence still needs to be seen! You're presence and support can and will make a huge impact voicing that animal cruelty is a crime and must be treated as such.

Demonstrations show exactly how united strong we are!

Please arrive early to allow for parking and set up. The jurors arrive at 9. If you can't make it at 9 come later we will be there.

To show our unity, if possible wear a orange shirt.
Also you will need to bring you're own sign. No hate signs towards Kristen Lindsey will be allowed. It will only hurt our message.

Locals, there are some that think our community doesn't care. Let's do this. Tiger was OUR neighbor!

They are looking for slogans that they can put on signs for the protest rally at the courthouse on May 27. I doubt that I will be able to attend, but there is a small possibility that I can make it there since I'm only about 50 miles away.

But I feel for Tiger. And I'm happy to know there are civilized people in east Texas. Can't believe the repugs haven't noticed yet that animal cruelty is a felony and gotten it off the books.

Unfortunately, it seems that we have all come across our first scam in the name of Tiger. The page " Friends of Tiger" & their web site by the same name, have taken us all by surprise, because we can’t imagine someone being so horrible to use the death of any living being as a means to profit. However, we do know that it happens, much to the displeasure of many. Several admins from three different Tiger pages were suspicious and investigated but, by the time we found anything we felt was solid against this person, it was too late.

In light of this though, we are banding together to make sure that this doesn’t happen again. Any donations in the name of Tiger are going to be discussed between our pages and given final approval by those who knew Tiger in life. We feel that this is the best way to protect ourselves and you, Tigers extended family.

We know that many of you have great ideas to keep up the fight for Tiger, we aren’t going to discourage your ideas, however, if you want to put something together for him then please help us to help you make it happen the right way. That is to plan way in advance, bring it to our attention, discuss with page admins for Remembering Tiger (or we can deliver the idea and discuss with them ourselves), be as transparent as possible with intentions, or anything else that is asked. It may seem strict but, this is how we need to protect each other.

More at the link . . .

It's a shame that someone would be so callous as to engage in such a fraud.
