Abortion bill battle comes to near blows for two Republicans on House floor

AUSTIN -- Two Texas Republican lawmakers nearly got into a fist fight on the state House floor late Sunday night after a priority of anti-abortion activists surprisingly failed to make it onto the calendar ahead of a key deadline.

Rep. Jonathan Stickland, R-Bedford, got in the face of Rep. Byron Cook, R-Corsicana, at around 9:30 p.m., shortly after Senate Bill 575 died in the last pre-deadline Calendars Committee meeting on a 7-7 vote.

Three Republicans -- Reps. Sarah Davis, Debbie Riddle and Patricia Harless -- joined with minority Democrats to oppose the bill, which would ban health insurance plans in the state from covering abortion.

"You gave me your word!" Stickland yelled at Cook during a brief confrontation that was broken up by security officers.

If she did, I hope she has more of them. Such fits might not help her political career, but they'll make her a wiser and more compassionate person.

Hanah Giles is the young lady who participated in the James O'Keefe faked videos attacking ACORN. She is a nasty piece of work who is now filming moderate GOP representatives (i.e., Joe Strauss supporters) in order to run these people out of office. http://juanitajean.com/oh-oh-oh-they-are-whining/

Well now Hannah and her husband Joseph have taken their show to Austin, where crazy people don’t stand out, and called it American Phoenix Foundation.

And what, you ask, does The American Phoenix Foundation do?

An Austin-based nonprofit with ties to activists arrested in the past for targeting legislators in other states has collected hundreds of hours of secretly recorded video footage of Texas lawmakers to use against them in the upcoming election cycle, a representative from the group confirmed Tuesday.

The undercover video campaign represents a new front by conservative groups to target incumbent Republicans and tilt the Texas Legislature further to the right.

Okay, so I know you are asking yourself how in hell could Texas be further to the right? Is that even possible considering the laws of physics?

Next election cycle a number of the less crazy GOP types will targeted by the tea party
