Update:Conspirator in Garland 'Draw the Prophet' attack wanted to target Super Bowl, prosecutors say

A Phoenix man accused of arming the gunmen who were killed by Garland police outside an art exhibit last month has been arrested in Arizona.

Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem is accused of hatching a plot with Nadir Soofi and Elton Simpson to attack the “Draw the Prophet” exhibit and contest May 3, according to court records.

He also has been accused of wanting to join the Islamic State terrorist organization and attack the Super Bowl.

Kareem, also known as Decarus Thomas, has been indicted on charges of conspiracy, transportation of firearms with intent to commit a felony and providing false statements to investigators.
