Former police chief sues Yoakum, claims retaliation
The former Yoakum police chief claims he was fired for retaliation.
Arthur Rogers sued the city in federal court earlier this month.
Rogers was fired last year for negligence, City Manager Kevin Coleman said.
But Rogers contends Coleman tried to derail his investigation of then-city attorney Charles Kvinta.
Kvinta was convicted in 2013 of mishandling an elderly client's money.
He deposited a woman's $166,143 check from GeoSouthern Energy into his law firm's account.
