Hilton To Allow Anti-Gay Hatefest At Dallas Hotel

Hilton doesn’t plan to prevent anti-LGBT activists from staging a hatefest at one of its Dallas-area hotels later this month.

The Faith Family Freedom Tour, an eight-city engagement sponsored by several anti-LGBT hate groups, is scheduled to stop at the Hilton Dallas Park Cities on Sept. 15.

During the tour’s inaugural stop, at a Hilton hotel in Houston, lead organizer Dr. Steve Hotze appeared to promote violence against the LGBT community, wielding a sword and pledging to drive “homofascists” out of the city and back to San Francisco. But Kim Blackmon, a spokeswoman for Hilton, said in a statement Friday that the company has no plans to turn the group away in Dallas.

“Hilton Dallas Park Cities strives to be a meeting place for people from all walks of life, regardless of beliefs, race, color, national origin, religion or sexual orientation,” Blackmon said. “The views of our guests do not reflect the sentiments of the hotel. Our goal is to provide quality accommodations and a pleasant environment for our guests, employees and members of our community visiting our hotel. We would like to emphasize that all Hilton hotels strive to be an inclusive hotel and we regret if this policy has unintentionally offended any individual or organization.”
