Rachel Barrios-Van Os: Answer to Scott Walker

Dear Democratic Delegates, Friends and Activists:

As disappointed as we may be over the far-right Union-busting Scott Walker winning the Wisconsin recall election, we must never, ever give up our principles and never, ever let temporary setbacks discourage us. The forces of darkness may knock us down for a moment, but we must always get up and keep fighting!

I support with my every living breath the rights of Union representation and collective bargaining for all workers private and public. Fellow delegates and activists, these are principles of our great Party. Scott Walker, you and your moneybags billionaire buddies will not keep us down!

As Texas Democratic Party Chair, I will fight with all my might against the lies and evil designs of Walker’s far-right cronies in our state. Join me in this fight.

Let’s have a fighting Texas Democratic Party that stands strong for working people and fights against Union-busting in all its vicious forms. Let’s have a fighting Texas Democratic Party that insists on the wealthy paying their fair share of taxes so that government will have the resources it needs to do its job. Let’s have a fighting Texas Democratic Party that never, ever gives up the fight!
