Man armed with stick tries to steal jet in Waco

A man carrying a stick attempted to steal a jet from the tarmac of Waco Regional Airport after crashing through a gate Thursday, according to the Waco Police Department.

In a Facebook post, Waco police said that the man was hit with a Taser several times and eventually restrained. He had refused to cooperate with officers, according to the department's account.

Officials said the man was taken to a hospital after the incident. They believe he suffers from mental-health issues.

The man could face charges of trespassing, attempted theft, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
