After ex-prosecutor’s claims, auditor’s offices scrutinize Dallas County DA’s office
A former high-ranking prosecutor has taken allegations of financial misconduct within the Dallas County district attorneys office to at least two investigating agencies.
Cindy Stormer, who oversaw the budget at the district attorneys office until she was fired last week, said she has reported her concerns about misuse of public funds to the state and local auditors offices.
A spokesperson for the Texas State Auditors Office confirmed Wednesday that the agency had received a complaint about possible fraud and had requested more information from the Dallas County treasurers and auditors offices.
Meanwhile, Dallas County Auditor Darryl Thomas said by email Wednesday that his office received a written complaint and was evaluating the concerns.
