DALLAS -- Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is rallying her troops in North Texas today.
Many of the hundreds gathered outside the gymnasium at Mountain View College, where she is scheduled to speak around 1:15 p.m., were already revved up hours before she was scheduled to arrive.
Im just so excited, said Missy Holtman, a 53-year-old woman and retired teacher. Ive never lived in a place where she might actually come.
Clinton is making her way to the community college in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas as part of her grassroots outreach, hoping to amp up support for her presidential campaign long before Texas presidential primary next year.

(112,347 posts)I don't believe that they have any athletic teams so the gymnasium may not have much seating capacity. I know of several gymnasiums in the Dallas area that have a maximum seating capacity of 500-600. There are fire code regulations after all.

(112,347 posts)since one of my roommates played basketball at Southwestern. Usually those gyms were used for staggered class registration before everything went online so only 15% of the student body would be there at once.
The gym that I am thinking of specifically is at the University of Dallas in Irving. There are bleachers on one side of the basketball court and the walls are about five feet beyond the court on the other side of the court. There isn't much room available on the ends of the courts either. In some school districts it would be considered as a practice gym.
Here is the coverage about the Austin event:
AUSTIN Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton will be in Austin Tuesday evening for a private fundraiser.

A couple of my friends lived in the Rosedale neighborhood in the late 90s. It is an upper middle-class neighborhood between 38th and Shoal Creek Boulevard west of Lamar. There are a few apartment buildings, but it is mostly single occupancy housing with a few renovated garage apartments.
