More businesses, college campuses, churches, and anywhere people congregate need to follow Ybarras example for the safety of the children. Its a lot easier for a gunman to get in position if no one can report what they are doing, after all.

(111,269 posts)if prospective customers see people inside with guns. That's not going to change. There is no way to tell a good guy with a gun from a mass murderer until the good guy leaves the area without shooting anybody.
Open carry is the dumbest idea out there from the gun fetishists.

(28,262 posts)shouldn't be anywhere near firearms, in the first place. If training-based concealed carry isn't enough for somebody, there's something wrong with them. Kudos to those businesses that are recognizing this and taking appropriate measures.

(3,859 posts)I intend to shop/patronize any place I wish to.
If someone walks in doing the whole open-carry thing and I feel that the situation is uncomfortable...I intend to leave immediately.
If that means abandoning a grocery cart full of perishables in the aisle...too bad.
If that means leaving before the meal is delivered....too bad.
If that means leaving after the meal is delivered... I will leave a tip to the server and leave without paying for the meal. The business owner can pay the price for the meal.
I will say this up front. I intend to patronize those businesses who specifically prohibit open-carry as my preference. In Texas that may not be that easy.
And...BTW...I am Veteran and a second-amendment Democrat.
