A Central Texas veterinarian who boasted online about killing a cat with an arrow will have her license suspended for a year.
The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners made the decision about Kristen Lindsey's license on Tuesday. She'll also have to complete four years of probation as well as animal-welfare training and other education.
Lindsey, 33, of Brenham gained notoriety in April 2015 after she posted a picture of herself on Facebook holding an orange-and-white cat that had been shot through the head with an arrow.
"My first bow kill LOL," the post read. "The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head! Vet of the year award ... gladly accepted."

(15,805 posts)They should have revoked her state license and barred her from working with animals even as a tech. Who would hire her? She be a liability to any business. If you discovered that a cat killer was working behind the scenes at your vet's office, wouldn't you find a new vet?

Maybe the marketplace will do what Texas board did not. May she be persona non grata anywhere she applies once the suspension is over.

I think she got off light. Some chicken farmers might want to hire her, but I never would.
