Sigel's Beverages, a 111-year old Dallas-based chain, files for bankruptcy

Sigel's Beverages, a Dallas-based chain of 10 stores, filed for bankruptcy protection late Thursday.

Sigel's was our booze store of choice, when we lived in the Dallas area in the 1970's. They carried a big selection of good, affordable wines and foreign beers, back when such an inventory was not easy to come by. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, as well.
