Emergency Warning Sirens in Dallas a Malfunction, City Says

Scary night if you were up.

Emergency warning sirens malfunctioning in Dallas overnight Friday may take up to three hours to silence, city officials say.
There is no severe weather in Dallas-Fort Worth and there is no active emergency -- though the cause of the sirens sounding has yet to be determined or fixed by the city's Office of Emergency Management.

Sirens are malfunctioning; there is no emergency.
Cause of malfunction is unknown; Dallas OEM working to diagnose and repair.
May take until 4 a.m. to silence all sirens, city officials say.

As I write this at 1:15 a.m. the sirens are still going off.

Around here we take those sirens seriously. Years ago I saw my dog acting weird and trying to dig a way underneath the house. I knew something bad was coming when I saw that & I loaded my kids in the car with dog and drove off. As we were driving away I heard those sirens going off. We stayed in a motel that night & when we went back the next day our roof was gone. Turns out the dog was the best weather warning

I do not fit there, but it makes me think the bathroom is the safest spot
