Texas judge who set $4 billion bond arraigns own son on DWI charge

Bell County Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown is being accused of a conflict of interest after arraigning her own son on a misdemeanor DWI charge Thursday morning.

Attorney Brett Pritchard, who had previously filed a petition to remove Brown from office, made the charge in an email Thursday to Waco's KWTX-TV.

Early Thursday, Brown arraigned Kevin Anton David, 55, of Killeen, who had been stopped by police on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She set his bond at $2,000.

The embattled judge also signed an arrest affidavit in which she found sufficient probable cause to issue an arrest warrant for her son.
