Democrats launch ad campaign targeting US Rep. Will Hurd
AUSTIN A radio ad attacking U.S. Rep. Will Hurd, R-Helotes, will start playing in Texas on Thursday as part of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committees first ad campaign of the 2018 election cycle.
The campaign includes radio and television ads that focus on Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare. The radio ad, which will play in Hurd's district, paints him as a threat to his constituents' access to health care.
This ad campaign the first of its kind for the DCCC this cycle demonstrates that while Democrats work to increase access to affordable health insurance for hardworking Americans, House Republicans like Will Hurd will never stop trying to rip it away, Cole Leiter, spokesman for the Democratic committee, said in a statement.
Hurd, who was first elected in 2014, was the only Texas Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives to vote against the American Health Care Act, a GOP-led effort to repeal Obamacare.
