Judge Guy Williams indicted in road rage incident

CORPUS CHRISTI -- A Nueces County grand jury had indicted 148th District Court Judge Guy Williams in connection with a road rage complaint filed against him earlier this year.

The indictment was handed up Friday morning. The case went to the grand jury after the Texas Rangers wrapped up an investigation into the alleged incident. A driver claims that on April 28th, Judge Williams tried to run his vehicle off the road at Airline and South Padre Island Drive..then pointed a gun at the driver as he left the scene.

In a statement sent to KRIS 6 News Friday morning, Williams' attorneys said:

"He (Judge Guy Williams) is innocent of the accusation against him. Judge Williams is a true believer in the judicial system and is confident his name will be cleared. Judge Williams is a veteran of the US Marines and a Purple Heart recipient for his service during the Vietnam War. He is a former federal agent and longstanding member of the legal community. He has spent his life defending the Constitution of the United States and anticipates the values he risked his life for will be upheld in the courtroom and justice will he served. He looks forward to his day in court and asks that all reserve judgment until the facts are fully known in the appropriate setting."
