Hate Group Attacks Montgomery Co. Officials Over LGBTQ-Inclusive Proclamations

The Texas Pastor Council is not happy about two LGBTQ-inclusive adoption proclamations issued by the Montgomery County Commissioners Court last week.

The symbolic proclamations, which appeared on the court’s Nov. 14 agenda, declare November as Montgomery County Adoption Month, and Nov. 15 as Montgomery County Adoption Day.

Montgomery County isn’t exactly a liberal bastion, and the Commissioners Court is all Republican. However, identical “whereas” clauses in both proclamations include LGBTQ people.

“Whereas, there are no restrictions on who can adopt based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or expression, gender identity or marital status …” the proclamations state.
