Local elections have consequences-Harris County Bail lawsuit
In 2016 with significant financial support from Soros, Harris County elected Kim Ogg as the new district attorney. Kim has already effectively decrim pot and has been attempting to reform the bail system. The Harris County bail system results in a large number of individuals being in jail who are not dangerous but who cannot make bail. The system is supported by the bail bond industry and by a group of GOP misdemeanor judges. In 2018, we voted out of office all GOP judges including the GOP judges who were trying to block the reform of the bail system. Guess what happened?
