Truce sought for Seth Meyers, Sheriff Chody before Austin show
Robert Ettinger is an Austin lawyer working on a project. Lawyers often enjoy working on projects, especially those involving billable hours.
But I discerned no potentially billable hours in Ettingers project, which involves the intersection of comedy and law enforcement. He wants to enable a summit between two people whove jabbed at each other from afar, one via television and one via the often anti-social world of social media. Summits are back in vogue. Theyre worth the effort, even if they dont end well, as in one earlier this year in Hanoi featuring two leaders brought together to compare nontraditional hairstyles.
Maybe you can help me with a project, Ettinger told me in an email. Sure, I figured, I could probably help him with a project, as long as it doesnt involve hours billable to me. Ettinger wants to set up a meeting between the improbable duo of late-night TV funnyman Seth Meyers and sometimes funnyman and full-time Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody.
