DA's position dealing with misdemeanor marijuana cases following passage of Texas' new hemp law.

My high school civics teacher/debate coach taught me a phrase that is applicable today:

No true Texan can sleep soundly in their bed while the Texas legislature is in session

The legis legalize or confirm the legality of CBD oil/hemp products but this new law now means that you need lab tests to prosecute pot cases to show that the pot has at least 3% THC. Here is the result of this new law

The only thing it does is make me cough and gives me a headache. I guess that if I need to go through the motion of smoking something it might happen.

It is a major expense to prosecute these cases with little benefit for society even if it results in a plea or conviction.
