Harris Co. official: 'People enjoy floods'

This asshole is a republican https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/harris-co-official-people-enjoy-floods/285-291405102?fbclid=IwAR303ZnZgGMiXJpaAFkhJCmOGTc4I74sBz8AA9sENWgec0mTggWPBX993TA

Comments from a Harris County Commissioner aren't sitting well with some people.

Precinct 3 Commissioner Steve Radack recently said some people want to get flooded so they can cash in, and he's not backing down from his comments.

Radack says this was one minute of a 90-minute community meeting in Cypress last Thursday night. However, to the audience of flood victims, it didn't go over well.

It was called a '100 year' flood. There was an actual 'eddy' in our backyard. Debris was being sucked UNDER the bridge that crossed the creek, next to my parent's property. We were lucky. The house was just high enough and we managed to sandbag the basement windows and install a standing pipe in the floor drain, saving us from the more serious problems. However, ALL of our neighbors suffered massive flooding damages. Furniture, photos, keepsakes, clothes, furniture all damaged or destroyed.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY who actually goes through such an event sees it as an opportunity to 'cash in'.

health insurance. He can't comprehend "afford&quot or Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House at the time, saying (paraphrasing) "children are too proud to accept free lunch, they would rather starve." He can't comprehend children's daily lives of hunger. Now this: Victims of inconvenient floods and fires? A hardship on the insurance companies, that's what Republicans care about. Blame the victims, and cackle over the poors. What republicans love to do. Blame, cackle, and feel superior.
