Scared residents in Woodlands plead for help with feral hog invasion

A feral hog invasion in the senior citizen community of Windsor Hills has left residents and others both scared and frustrated.

On Wednesday night, dozens of residents of the community on the northern edge of The Woodlands flooded the township board meeting, describing the terror the animals have created and pleading for any kind of help township officials could provide.

During public comment, numerous residents described the destruction that the feral hogs are doing in the community — digging up yards and sod, eating plants and other things such as acorns and grubs — while also terrorizing residents who are now fearful of going outside because they might encounter the hogs, which are exponentially more dangerous when cornered or a sow is protecting her piglets.

Carlos Wehby, one of the most vocal residents in not just The Woodlands, but also Windsor Hills where he lives, told board members of the porcine chaos.

They can then set up pens to lure them into and trap, then remove, and not have hunters shooting in their area. I think looking for people that specialize in that would be a good start. They can be very dangerous also, and damage a lot of things very quickly. Good luck.
