1. Dallas County--DISD pulling up signs at school polling places

I was poll greeting this morning at Lida Hooe (pct 4068, Dallas County), when a janitor came out and started pulling up all the political signs (all Democratic, 'cause it's a predominately Democratic precinct, and the Repubs don't bother at that location). He said the principal told him to do that. The other poll greeter went inside to talk to the principal, who cited a memo from DISD Superintendent Mike Miles stating that political signs are not allowed on school property.

I stayed outside to gather the signs that the janitor was pulling up. He suggested to me that I put them across the street; I replied that those houses and businesses across the street from the school are private property, but the school is public property, since we all pay taxes for it.
