STX Beef CEO tests positive for COVID-19

CORPUS CHRISTI -- The CEO of STX Beef has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Terry Maul, STX Beef's CEO, recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms, said a statement from the company. Maul will remain in isolation in accordance with the company's policy.

In May, 63 people at the facility tested positive for the coronavirus. It's not certain that Maul contracted the virus at the facility.

"STX Beef continues to enforce strict protocols at our facility and implement safety guidelines as recommended by the CDC and the state of Texas," the statement reads. "STX is deeply appreciative of its employees and the community for their ongoing dedication and support."
