With any luck, they won’t be able to get injunctive relief and it’ll be moot by the time the fight really gets going.

The Republicans could have just let the mayor do their dirty work for them. They could blame him (and the Democratic Party) for canceling their convention. They could have let a Democratic mayor take the blame for canceling a super-spreader event that all sane people agree is a bad idea in the middle of a pandemic, but NO! They have to fight it out in Court to ensure that more OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE will get sick at an ill-advised gathering. Note that their party leaders aren’t going to attend. They’re not stupid, but the Texas Republican Party is going to fight in Court to make sure that the party faithful can show up en mass and spread coronavirus.
