I can’t understand all these switches lately.

I think he ran out of friends in city hall and decided to show his middle finger, getting some allies in Austin along the way and possibly some post-mayoral job leads.

That's a gross simplification of his tenure, but it's more right than wrong.

They’ll knife him come next election and go with the real McCoy to replace him.

Having lived in the Houston area for almost 20 years, it takes courage, strength and commitment to be a Democrat in that state. This fool has none of those qualities. Taking the easy way out to become the token they wave around as proof of their "inclusive agenda". Good riddance. He won't be missed and we won't see him again.

It's very blue. Doesn't take too much courage to be a Democratic mayor in Dallas.

May he get what he deserves, and damned soon.
