Amarillo millionaire Stanley Marsh 3 was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on Thursday after Potter County officials filed 14 criminal charges.

Attorneys for Stanley Marsh 3 and a man suing Marsh 3, his wife and longtime associate David Weir over child sex abuse claims sparred Thursday over a motion to delay taking depositions from potential witnesses for three months.

District Judge John Board conducted a brief pretrial hearing Thursday on pretrial discovery motions filed by attorneys for Stanton Coldiron, an Amarillo man who sued Marsh 3 last month.

On May 1, Coldiron, 21, filed a civil lawsuit against the Amarillo millionaire, Wendy Marsh, Weir and two Marsh 3 entities — SM3 LLC and Barb Wire LP — in Potter County. The suit alleges Coldiron was 16 when he met Marsh 3, who systematically seduced, molested and sexually abused the teen over a six-month period in 2008.

The other defendants, the suit said, aided, abetted and conspired with Marsh 3, 75, in his sexual abuse of Coldiron.

I expect the defense attorneys to continue filing delays and continuances until the pervert is dead. Marsh 3 has already put up a $300,000 bond and although he was booked at the detention center there is no indication as to whether or how long he was actually detained.
