Plans unveiled for major expansion of UVa medical facilities

The University of Virginia Health System has major expansion plans for the next decade.

Many of the services now offered on UVa Grounds would be provided in new offices on U.S. 29 north of Charlottesville, on Pantops, near the Foxhaven and Blue Ridge properties in the Ivy area, as well as in expanded offices in the Fontaine Research Park.

A new orthopedic campus would open on Ivy Mountain, near the university’s athletic complex.

Officials unveiled a 10-year building plan at a joint committee meeting with the university’s Board of Visitors on Thursday.
