Thousands assemble for second Womens March on Williamsburg

On January 21, 2017, approximately 700 people gathered in Colonial Williamsburg for a local Women’s March to show support for women’s rights.

Saturday, that number more than doubled to 2,000, and the event, as well as the message, was more focused.

Marched with my teenage nieces, brother & sister-in-law. Wonderful, diverse crowd - “tell us what democracy looks like” - “this is what democracy looks like!”

Indivisible. They said that this year's March was bigger in most cities, making it the largest mass protest in US history beating last year's record.

We were told last year that the grass roots resistance and energy wouldn't last. HA!

NOW we have to get active in local campaigns and work hard to get women and minorities to run, especially younger citizens.
