UPDATE: 'Blood everywhere:' Middleburg developer arrested after pointing gun at tenants who allegedly ravaged his $4M Airbnb rental

John A. Jack Andrews of Middleburg was released on bond Monday after being arrested Saturday morning and charged with five counts of abduction, use of or displaying a firearm in the commission of a felony and brandishing a firearm.
Andrews, according to a bond motion, went to a $4 million Aldie home he owns after being notified by an employee who visited the property that there was significant damage to the home and blood everywhere. ... The home, located in the 39000 block of Snickersville Turnpike near Aldie, was rented out online through Airbnb.
When Andrews, 77, arrived at the residence Saturday, he observed broken windows and doors, damaged furniture, glass everywhere, large blood stains and pools of blood inside and outside of the rental property, the bond filing states. Out of concern for his own safety, Mr. Andrews entered the rental property in the possession of his handgun.
As Andrews arrived, he was confronted by approximately 12 people, according to the court filing. He told the individuals to remain at the house until Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived.

(29,204 posts)2. chances are he didn't rent the property out to 12 people
so my guess is that he has some of those people on criminal trespass and charges of vandalism.
I imagine he will use a "citizens arrest" defense for pulling his gun...
but he should have called the police even before entering the property (once he saw the broken windows he should have called the police and waited for them before entering and confronting the people inside).
