my life and I'm east & west. I'd like to see it as a new state song, a good remake w Dylan, Scruggs family, etc.

Earl Scruggs was in his own class, and Randy Scruggs is an excellent guitarist.

A great version.

Speaking of Earl Scruggs, and folk performers,

playing mandolin. And Randy's death I recall now, what great talents all of these folks. That was a prolific era for popular music but time has really moved on. Glad I saw Dylan perform in 1978, and many others.

Thanks for this post, my computer's weird and my earlier replies to you didn't go thru. In #3 are some thoughts about 'Eastern Virginia Blues.'

As a musician, I have played this type of music for many years.

On a side note, this type of music is quite similar to the roots music of Québec, my family area.

I agree that Bob Dylan did quite well here. His work with the Band crossed boundaries much like the Byrds did at the same time.

jazz and classical than country or bluegrass. And I tried the violin and guitar but had to give it up for studies. *What music do you play?

Later I've grown to appreciate Appalachian music moreso and also country.

I always liked Scots-Irish, Celtic music esp. with fiddle, and traditional French Canadian and Cajun songs, what few I've heard. In Dublin I saw Irish musicians and folk dancers perform that were wonderful.

Love New Orleans' Creole, Cajun culture, I was so impressed when I visited, and the French Caribbean I've seen too.

I haven't travelled to Eastern Canada/Quebec, only Ontario and Vancouver briefly but my young niece went to Montreal on a school trip. She and beau loved New Orleans and Nashville and listen to 1970s gems music.

P.S. Grateful that Dylan, Joni Mitchell and other great veteran musicians are here and still going, amen. ~ a.blue
